Maintenance work that fills next week's calendar

Use time and mileage intervals to fill quiet gaps with service the car is already due for.

The interval lives on the vehicle

Maintenance that depends on the counter's memory disappears as soon as the week fills with breakdowns. If the car has months or mileage written down, the reminder appears even if nobody remembers the customer.

Oil, filters, and what the shop already recommends are enough to start. Adjust the interval when the maker or the shop's own practice says so, not every day.

Fill gaps, do not invent work

The list of due reminders is the reserve for the calendar. When a booking fails or a bay runs short, call someone whose service is already due. The work is real.

Do not turn every reminder into an emergency. Offer a concrete gap. «The oil is due, Thursday at ten is free» fills the week. «Come by when you can» fills nothing.

Next to the inspection or MOT

If the annual inspection or MOT and a service fall close together, offer one visit. The customer makes one trip and the shop opens one order. If they do not fall close, do not mix them to inflate the estimate.

When the order closes, update the next date or mileage. If you do not, the reminder returns next week and the customer stops listening.

One hour a week

Keep a fixed moment, even half an hour, to look at reminders for the coming days and turn two or three into bookings. Without that moment, the list grows and never reaches the calendar.

Count bookings made, not messages sent. A reminder that does not become an hour is only a message. A reminder that becomes an order is work for the week.
